QKD's being featured!

Queen Kat Designs will be the featured company on all 3 of these blogs beginning on Monday this week. All of these blogs are excited to feature us as we embark on our 3rd year as a stamp company. Christmas is coming!

I have no idea how many days but I am sooooo not ready. I'm one of those whacko's that is done with Christmas shopping in AUGUST.. Well with the things that have happend this year I just didn't have the money or energy to get it even started! But I officially started my handmade family projects last night! GO ME! It feels great...

But then I get a bomb dropped in my lap today that I do not in fact have 2 weeks to pack... I now have 1 day to finish packing 1700 sqf of house all by myself.. Well ok.. me and the dogs. But they are not helping much! And I'm moving this Saturday! I have moved like 16 boxes already into the new house but that's not even a DENT in what I have. I've been going through things since May when the *S* hit the fan and I'm soooo glad I did cuz I don't wanna move CRAP!

Anyhoooo.. Here's some Christmas cards to get you in the mood...

Cards to share!

Phew! Saturday is over. It took 2 days to recover from all that partying! Since I didn't see many of you blogging friends there i guess I'll have to share my creations here... These were all made with the new releaes that we had on Saturday! There were 10 stamp sets in total. all with the animal theme. 4 sentiment sets and 6 image sets! That's a lotta stamps!

Have you ever seen a cuter monkey? I am having a blast with him and the palm tree! It's a build a palm it comes with the coconuts, 2 different sized leaves 4 in all and then the trunk! It's from our new stamp designer Lara O. The monkey is from who else? but our very own SJ!

I can't wait!!

OMG, I'm soooo just going to die waiting.... QKD is having a 2nd stamp release this Saturday!! that's right even MORE stampy goodness coming out this month!! I've been inking up my new stamps and making fun cards with them and I just can't spill the beans yet!! But I am going to give you a taste of what's to come.. :) Am I mean or what? lol. Queen Kat Designs is holding a big stamp release crop on Saturday night. You are ALL invited over to Paper Craft Planet to join us. It's a new site where all the who's who of the who's what hangs out! :) We have our very own group over there and you need to be a member in order to be eligible for the drawings and fun on Saturday. Fun starts at 7pm MST. Be there or be a dried up old ink pad! :)

Cupcakes anyone??

YUM-O as Rachel Ray would say. These little tid bits look so tasty. Nikki and I have had major fun playing with these stamps... They were designed by SJ... She still hasn't received her set to play with.. poor SJ.. It'll come soon, I promise! :) Anyhoo... After packing my 8th box of craft stuff tonight... (24"X12"12") BIG BOXES... I had to sit and make some cards. :)

I have figured out how to make my own home made shimmer paint... oh so pretty!! I only have 6 colors of acrylic paints that weren't packed when I got the bright idea so I made: Midnite sky, purple, sunflower yellow, bubblegum pink, dark berry and dark green... I used little containers I had left over from CTMH that eyelets come in... I just put some acrylic paint in... Then followed with some Iridescent medium from the watercolor aisle at M's. how much? who knows! I just kept adding until it shimmered! lol.. some chemist I'd be I tell yah! Here are a couple cards I came up with after mixing my paints.

I'm in love with these cupcakes! I want ice cream cones to match.. Hint hint, SJ! lol. These little guys are coming out tomorrow! November 1st as QKD kicks off a month of celebrating. We are proud and happy to announce our 2nd stamp line birthday. Come and join us for some fun.

Just a peek

Queen Kat Designs is celebrating our 2nd stamp line birthday in November. There will be lots of new stamps coming out on November 1st. I was playing around while packing to move the other night and came up with this card. The stamp set I used is the Cat/Dog Tags. It will be in the Nov 1 release. It's a really fun stamp set and is purrrfect for those furbaby projects that you do. It's a huge stamp set... all the more to love. I know.. my card is kind of plain but hey, I AM packing to move. lol. Not too much to pick n pull to play with anymore. Well.... ok there IS but... I didn't have the mojo to make anything that night after packing. lol. Check the QKD blog for more peeks.

Fall Cards

I think the theme of Fall is taking over my blog! :) Seems like that's what I'm into right now I suppose. :) Here are 3 cards that I made with the November Royal Kit at QKD. Fall Do Dads...

I was messin' around with some Versa Magic ink from the November Get Inked! kit @ Queen Kat Designs and this is what I came up with. I used a corkboard from the $1 store and a paint dauber from Tim Holtz to paint it. I just stamped all over the board and trimmed it with some ribbon from Cosmo Cricket and a couple of rhinestones. :) Then I got a candy jar from the craft store and stamped on it with the ink. It took a good 2 days for the ink to dry on it but it did. It's really cute. Come on over to the Gallery and see more of what I did. Nikki also made a cork board and I am in love with it! It's posted there as well.

Minimal Mojo!

Ok so the title doesn't totally say how I feel but it's close. :) I got to stamp again tonight. This darn pnemonia is kickin my butt and I can't sleep. It's 1:15am right now and I'm trying to go to sleep but can't stop coughing. So I've been stamping. I was on yahoo IM with Nikki tonight and she was feeding me color combos without knowing what stamp set I was using. :) and this is what we came up with. The first combo was Red and Cream...

For this card I used the Make Me Happy Stamp set and a new cupcake set that's coming out in November at Queen Kat Designs. I think it's so cute. I was blog surfing tonight and I saw some cards that were just goddy and over the top with stuff on them I tried to do minimalistic cards tonight as a challenge. That and taking Nik's color directions about killed me. lol. It's harder that it sounds to just take someone's color choices and make something if you have a particular set in mind and they have no idea. :) I did it to her last month and she created the coolest stuff!

The next Color combo she threw at me was navy and pink and I objected and pouted until she said monochromatic purples. :) Haha. Thanks Nik, i love yah! :)

For this card, I used the Harliquin Background stamp and another cupcake from the new set coming in November. The cardstock is Bazzill and I used the Scalloped Oval Nesters from Spellbinders. I love those things! They are coming out with some new shapes and of course I have my list ready when they hit stores! :) This was the last card we did color combos with as I needed to make a couple of other cards for the new releases in November @ QKD.

This card was made with some new Salt and Pepper shakers that we are releasing in November. They will be a new addition to our already fun and funky food section of the site.

No I haven't lost my mind. And you're not seeing things. :) This IS a beach card. SJ drew a new Beacher Bot and put together with Beachy Bot they make the purrrfect bot couple. Beacher is going to be the latest and greatest addition to the Seperates line @ QKD. I also used part of the Surfs up stamp set for this card. The blue background is embossed with the bubbles emb. folder for the cuttlebug and I inked the top with a teal ink to give more dimension.

I hope you enjoyed my minimalist cards. i don't know if I'll stick with the theme but hey, can't say I have't tried it! :) Have you stamped lately?

Wass up SHORTY?

LOL.. I sooo couldn't resist that title to go with this post! Nikki... my good friend is starting a new trend called SHORTIES... She decided that inchies are just too dang small!! And I couldn't agree more. So.. Shorties are 1.5" X 1.75" and are just the RIGHT size! Check them out.. I made 12 of these little monogram/shortie notebooks tonight with matching pens. I'll post some here and you can click here to see the rest.

All stamps are from Queen Kat Designs, Chipboard letters are from Prima, Flowers are from Prima & Imaginisce, Inks are Chalk and Tim Holtz Adirondak. (yeah big suprise no CTMH ink this time).. Paper on the "T" notebook is Dream Street Paper, Paper on the "I" notebook is I don't know who.. and the "S" is Sandylion.

About 12-14 inches at 3:00pm, October 12, 2008.... And it's STILL going!!! I think Mother Nature is having her time of the month... And she doesn't know it's only OCTOBER!!!! They say it'll be 70 tomorrow I'm praying it will be and all this white crap will be gone.... YUCK!

World Card Making Day

Wow! I can't believe it's OCTOBER already... Don't get me wrong I can't wait for this year to be over with!!!! I'm SOOOO done with 2008 it's not even funny. Anyhow..... I'm excited to tell you that Queen Kat Designs has teamed up with Just Johanna's Odd Bird Planet to bring you a day full of challenges and lots of prizes!!
