Sketchy RKW!

Hi hi! It's a sketch party today!! Thanks for visiting my blog! Maria challenged the Royal court to a sketch off this week. We used one of my sketches....And we all went to work on it! I had fun with the new stamp that came out this month called Honolulu skyline. It's sooooooo fun to work with!!! I wish I had a varigated ink pad I want to try to do it with all kinds of crazy colors! I used some paper from the Making Memories Travel stack I found and some random embellies! :) Try the sketch for yourself!

It's Release Day!!

Today I'm playing with the Honolulu Skyline stamp. It's a purrrfect stamp for this time of year. At Queen Kat Designs this summer, we've gone tropical. We have brought you everything such as palm trees, beach essentials and mermaids. But we haven't officially brought paradise to you until NOW! I used some paper from Making Memories for this fun card. I am loving the Travel stack that I picked up in my crafting shopping trips that seem to happen 5 days a week. lol. The paper accents the new stamps purrfectly!

Here I am & there you are, but in my heart we are not that far. That's the quote on this card I have to share with you today. Take a peek...I used the July Royal kit from QKD for this card. It's the Mimosa line of patterned papers from SEI. The paper is GORGEOUS!!!! If you haven't seen it, GET THE KIT!!! if you've seen it... GET THE KIT!! The papers are all different. Some are pearlized, some are glittered and some are foiled. OMG it's the prettiest paper I've seen in a very long time!!! Grab a kit or two and you can make this card.

Here's a card I made last weekend while camping.. That's right!! I take stamp stuff with me when I camp! I got 18 cards made.. What did YOU do last weekend?? :)
Maria sets our themes each week and this week was vintage... I chose this Basic Grey paper. It's got vintage looking flowers on it. I used 3 stamp sets to create this 1 4"X4" card! I used the Give me coffee set, Coffee Beans and the Coffee Stain stamp.

Recently I was at a craft store.. I can't for the life of me remember which one but.. I found this velvet ribbon that's scrunched and folded and looks soooo vintagey to me. It's a fun addition to this card. I hope you like it.

Take a Sip...

I have a fun card for you today. It took me a while to figure out how to make the card base but I got it. I wish I'd made a template to share with you but I was so excited I got it that I put it together and I don't even have a template to make it over if I wanted. lol

I used some patterned paper from Me & My Big Ideas with some cardstock out of my stash. I stamped the drink from the Beach Essentials stamp set from QKD onto textured cardstock and colored with prisma pencils and gamsol (yes I love to do that, lol).So, how'd I do? It's my first envelope card. :) and I didn't even use an envelope for the base! :)

We have a new stamp Designer that will debut in July. Her name is Nichole Cottrell and she's fantastic! She designed all of the flower stamps for the Royal kit for July!

About the kit... We're featuring the Mimosa papers from SEI this month. Some of them are foil, some are glittered and some are pearled. This month we've added some embossed velvet papers for great backgrounds. We've combined both patterned paper and patterned cardstock for this kit. It's a very lush and tropical theme. This week we are celebrating everything summer! I wanted to make a really happy summery card. I used the new Star mermaid from the Whimsical Ink Sorority for this card. She's HOT!!! You have to pick this stamp up. She's part of the masquerade series that we've started.

I painted her with my new professional watercolor paints and highlighted parts of her with my white souffle' pen. She's a fun girl to use for lots of things. I can in vision birthday cards, thank you cards, invites and more with her. Try Star out for yourself!

Nature

I just love my new house. :) the deck is GREAT for evening sits. Although we live in the "city" it feels like we live in the middle of Hawai'i or some tropical oasis. Who ever landscaped the back yard knew I was coming!!! It's so fantastic. We have a few resident squirrels that beg for peanuts. And we feed them!! They have gotten used to us on the deck and come within about a foot before they turn and run. I've named this one Sally. It appears to be a momma by the nipples on her belly. she has a nest in the big pine tree in the neighbors yard.

This first pic was taken while i sat at the patio table.. You can see the railing on the bottom of the pic.. and the green string holds up a bird feeder that we converted to a peanut holder... Until the big huge black and white birds came and ate all the peanuts! Damn birds. lol

This second pic is Sally wondering where to jump next to get closer to the peanuts I just set out for her. hehe. She has a certain path that she takes each time she comes to visit. I hope you had fun seein my new buddy. :)
