The true love of ink....

Ahhh I feel a little bit better now that I have gotten inky.. As many of you know my family is going through a rough time right now as my dad's cancer has spread to his brain. There are 15 tumors there that they can see.. They've taken him off Chemo and put him on radiation for the brain. We don't know what to expect but are praying for a miracle. Thank you to all of you who have sent me messages on Facebook, texts and emails my family truly appreciates all of the prayers.

So... Today... I got in a roll of seam binding.. I wanted to make some crinkle specialty died ribbons to use with my new Tim Holtz Distress inks.. So I made up all my little mini misters and water and sprayed up some ribbons! :) I'll have a tutorial here soon. I'm letting them dry over night so I can have some dry ones to show ya. But beware... This may happen...
And... a tip... either wear gloves or wait to get a mani! :)Be back soon!

Here ye' here ye' all hail the Red Queen... hehe. I just had to share this card I made.. I used the new Wonderland Friends stamp set from QKD along with a new border punch I picked up. I love how it turned out. I stamped the image with Momento ink onto watercolor paper and colored it in with my Tombow markers. I added some red stickled to all he hearts in the image.

For the large flower on the bottom of the card, I layered some primas and a red chiffon flower I made with a bridal flower and a silver brad. The chiffon I used has dots of red glitter on the fabric already so that just added more pizzazz. :) Oh.... I also random stamped the red cardstock with the playing card from the Fairy Queen of Hearts stamp set from QKD as well.

A Little MAD....

Hey hey, it's a beautiful day here at the QKD office. The sun is out and it's actually warm. I'm so glad that the new Alice in Wonderland inspired stamps are out now! Because that means I can show you what I've been working on. :)

This is a card that I made using the Mad Hatter from the new Wonderland Friends stamp set. I know the colors are not your usual color combo but I think it works. Strange yes, but who said the Mad Hatter wasn't a bit MAD?? :)

I used the Ace card from the new Fairy Queen Of Hearts stamp set at QKD to random stamp the black cardstock on this card. I stamped it with come Champagne Versamark ink.

*Side note: I have been wanting the new sparkley versamark for some time and I finally bought 2 pads. The champagne and the frost. I'm not even going to open the Frost. It's going back to the store. :( I'm not sure why I got so hyped up about it.. the look is just like regular VM ink only a tad of sparkle... which rubs off as the ink dries.

Next I layered some Jenni Bowlin patterned paper onto some creamy/yellowy Bazzill cardstock and embosses it with my new Moroccan screen cuttlebug folder and inked it all up with my new Barn Door Tim Holtz distress ink pad and foam applicator.

I stamped and colored the Mad Hatter on my trusty watercolor paper, inked the edges with the new light blue distress ink.. the formal name escapes me at the moment.. I added 3 brads and matted it to some aqua colored cardstock. Added a ribbon to the red piece and layered it all on my card base.

Then I pulled out the trusty, handy dandy clear glossy accents and applied it to the glasses, tea pot, tea cup and shoes. I added some red glitter glue to his feather and viola! card done.

The Queen's here...

Hey there!!! Welcome to my stop on the blog hop. I have been having so much fun with the Queen of Hearts in the Whimsical Ink line that I had to join in the blog hop today.

This is a 5.5" square card. I love doing square cards yet I don't do them often.. go figure. You can't see it really well in the picture but I used the Heart It background stamp from QKD on the red cardstock in red ink to add a little bit more texture to the card.

I gathered up some tulle for the left side of the card then stitched the Queen on to that with some sparkley black string. After stamping and coloring the cards, I cut them out and pop dotted them on and added some clear glossy accents. I added the sentiment and viola! That's the card in a nut shell.

I hope you enjoyed the blog hops yesterday and again today. We do it each week and have a different theme each week. I know there was supposed to be a sketch today but I squeezed this card in at the last moment.

The new stamps will be available in the QKD store tomorrow!

My Sis

Check it out! This is my 12 yo sister. She is telling a story at the Weber County School District Story Telling Fesitival today. It's the best gut laffing story I've heard in a loooooooong time!!! I'm so proud of her.

I do! I do! I was published in another magazine. :) It's the Just Cards! Birthdays! Special Edition. I have 4 cards in it!! and one of them can partially be seen on upper right hand side of the cover! hehe.. Ahhhh the lil things. :)

I am still giddy with excitment and I got the news yesterday. :) I've got some more fun news! QKD is having another online crop. It's going to be our Spring Flower Crop on April 16-18 at the new Castle! Come by and hang out with us. Even though we aren't cropping, there's still stuff going on now! :)

Been a while....

Hi guys!

It's been a while since I blogged. I dont have much to tell yah. Life is happening at a fast pace right now and I can't get time to put thoughts into focus. I have more CHA pics to share but I dont know when I'll get on my laptop to upload them.. lol I'm sorry. By now you've probably seen it all anyway. I made a couple new tags last weekend. It's the first time I've made something since November.

Since I took Tim Holtz's class @ CHA, I got 4 of the new distress ink pads... Wild Honey, Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet and Barn Red. I used Bard Red and Wild Honey on the tag above. I stamped it with the new Ransom Alphabet background from Queen Kat Designs that we just released today. I made the flower thingy.. I made a gathered circle out of red tulle and singed the edges then cut a circle of organza and singed the edges of that. Then I layered a prima on it.. inked it up, added a jumbo brad and crystal lacquered pearls to the center and BLAM! You have a purdy flower. I think it would be more the size for a card than a tag but hey, not bad for my first tag outta the gate after an almost 3 month creative hiatus.
For the tag above, I used the new Victorian Velvet ink pad and the old Milled Lavendar pad.. Some grunge board wings, crown and key hole.. I painted the crown with bronze crackle paint.. stamped the winds with the new Ransom Alphabet background from QKD and then spread Rock Candy stickles over it and the ink smeared for me and made the wings purple.

I stamped the Bodice stamp and the Goth Necklace and added crystal lacquer and pearls. the crown is attached with gold wire. and the key hole is painted with rock candy stickles and attached with some awesome tiny tiny tiny brads that I found at M's a while ago. PS.. don't lose one then step on it!! it hurts, BAD!

So... in closing I have some fun things to tell you about for QKD. We had an impromptu stamp release today! I released 7 new stamps. 5 backgrounds and 2 steampunk stamps. We also kicked off our Sweet crop today at the new Castle. Please come by and play along. We are having a 3 day online crop. There are 4 challenge, 2 games and a grand prize. Hey hey hey!!

I know, it's strange, I'm @ CHa & I'm only blogging for the 2nd time?? WTH? lol. I've been so busy with stuff. Seeing everything I need to see is proving to be a BIG task. hehe.

I've seen Ranger, Jilly Bean, Fancy Pants, Cosmo Cricket, EK Success, MME, Pink Paislee, Stampendous, Timmy, Scrap Within Reach, Pebbles, KaiserCraft, SEI, adornit, Clear Scraps, Tonic, Design Originals.... Sizzix, Tandy Leather, Maya Road, Basic Grey, Rocket Girl... & lots lots lots more!! I'm buried in catalogs I can't go to sleep on my bed. :)

I had the honor of meeting Mark Montano today. I was star struck! I couldn't think to get my camera out!! lol he shook my hand!! I don't think I will wash it ever again!

I watched Suze Weinberg do a demo yesterday & got to meet Claudine Hellmuth today. She's gorgeous & VERY nice!! I am surprised that some of the celeb's I'm meeting are very nice & down to earth. It's awesome. Vanna White was there today but there was no way to even get close enough to see her! lol.

I met Irene Tan today!!! She traveled all the way from Malaysia to come to CHa & I snuck up on her n we had a chat. It was great to finally meet her! Here's a pic of the two of us..

I'm having fun seeing the new stuff!! More to blog about soon!!

Pink Feet @ CHA...

So guys.. I made it to CA safe n sound. The rain was scary @ times but we made it through & are here @ the hotel stamping n getting ready for class tomorrow. I was spraying some foam core with memory mist for a display that Ky & I are making for the super show crop.....

Welll.... I sprayed it & sprayed it... it got all over the floor in the kitchen of our hotel room....

As you can see in the pic above I tried to clean up with my sock. haha. Then I walked through it... & this is the result..

Ky & I laughed pretty hard over it. I think the floor is perma pink now tho. :)

So... that's my first report from CHA hehe. :)
