RKW- Altered Frame Blog Hop

Welcome to this edition of Royal Kat Wednesday. I'm so sorry I missed out the past 2 weeks. It's been super duper busy here at the QKD office and I haven't had any time to sit and make anything. :( But this week I pushed it all to the side and took Maria's challenge of making an altered frame. This post may get to be long but it's worth reading on if you'd like to know how I did it. :)

If you're just starting on the blog hop please make sure you hop back to the start and check out all the goodies to see.

I started with a plain white double frame I got from SEI and I painted it all over with my Fired Brick Crackle paint from Tim Holtz (I love this stuff) I let that dry for about an hour while I prepard a couple embellishments to add to the frame...
I used Cosmo Cricket Black Board/Chipboard letters for the B and L. I pierced 3 holes in the side and wrapped wire through them to make it look "laced". I added 3 clear rhinestones on each letter. Next I took some teal colored patterned paper (from who knows where) and I used some letter rub ons to spell Bubba and Lucky. I lightly sanded the back of 2 clear fragments from Tim Holtz and applied clear Accents to the back and stuck that on my paper over the words I made with the rub ons. I allowed that to dry for about 2 hours and cut it out with my exacto knife. Once the Crackle paint was dry, I random stamped the Random Text background stamp from QKD onto the frame using red Stazon Ink. Next I took a mask from Tim Holtz and placed it along the edge of the frame and used my foam/handle from Inkessentials and sponged some Charcoal Chalk Ink over the mask. Using Black Stazon, I stamped random sentiments around the frame. I used the Friends Forever, you're my... and the Elegant Sayings stamp sets for the words.
Then using tombow as my choice adhesive, I applied the 4 gold photo corners on the frame. I stamped the Kings Crown in versamark and embossed in gold. then I painted the crown with Coal Shimmers paint and added rhinestones for bling. I used XL Zots to adhere the B,L and the two crowns to the frame. And I "stitched" the teal fragments on with wire. Added a picture of each of my boyz and viola! There you have it. Thanks for visiting.

Off to Maria's blog you go. Have a great hop!
