Day 10: 12 Days of Christmas Projects

Welcome to day 10 of my version of 12 days of Christmas. Today I'm sharing a very different kind of tag.

Ok.. Ok... Don't judge by the pics please!!!! It is so hard to photograph this tag. I musta spent an hour trying. But between the plastic glaring and the stamping wanting to show up twice like double vision.. I was having a hard time! This tag is one of a kind. It's very pretty in person, I haven't lost it I promise! :)

This tag was made using 2 plastic tags.. I found them at a clearance sale at Ben Franklin's when they were closing a few weeks ago. I used Peppermint Girl from QKD and some Alcohol Inks to get this very strange look; yes, I admit it is stange. But it's friggin awesome in person. Here's how I acheived this tag...

Supplies: 2 Clear Plastic tags, Peppermint stamp from QKD, foil corner, foil tape from Ranger, Alcohol ink: Cranberry, Meadow, Orgeano (I think) and Gold additive, Black Stazon, ribbons, white cardstock.

Steps:

1. Using your alcohol ink, ink up your clear tags (1 side only).. I used the Oregano on top, Cranberry in the middle and Meadow on the bottom. then I put the additive on to that after the color was on.

2. Sandwich a white piece of cardstock between your clear tags with the Alcohol ink inside. Trim off ends and poke a hole for the ribbon. Apply the Foil tape around the edges of the tag. (Note the tape comes in other colors but all I had was silver).

3. With stazon, stamp Peppermint on to the tag. Let dry.

4. Add the foil photo corner with tombow or your choice of adhesive.

5. Add ribbons and you're done!

This is one heavy, sturdy tag! It'll hold up to all the bashing the post office will put it through when I send it to who ever I send it to lol. I think for the next 2 days, I will be doing ornaments for you!! :) I'll be back tomorrow. Stay warm and make some tags! :)

Day 9: 12 Days of Christmas Projects & Blog Candy

Ok.. So I'm having a really hard time sitting down to blog this year. You'd think.. 12 days.. I could do that.. But noooo life has other plans for me. It's snowing again outside and I just finished snow blowing the driveway. YUCK!! Mother nature needs to keep her snow and dump it somewhere else.. Like I dont know... CHINA??? lol.

So here we are finally with day 9 on my 12 day venture that's going to be a few days past 12.. lol.. Today I've got snowflakes!! lots of em.

I know, I know.. the pics are realllllly bad! But it's been one of them days! :) the tag is white, silver and blue. Not too much bling but it's very pretty.

I have a give away today too! Some Christmas stamps!! yay! Ho ho ho! Leave me a comment and make sure you're a follower of the blog either on blogger or Facebook. I'll choose the winner on Monday.

Here's how I did this tag...

Supplies: Tag, ribbon, velvet ribbon, grungeboard circle, QKD stamps, Faded Jeans DI Ink, Clear Embossing Powder, heat tool, versamark ink, blue azure stazon, pewter metallic crackle paint, foam applicator, snowflake glimmer screen, chestnut roan chalk ink.

Steps:

1. Using repositionable adhesive, apply your glimmer screen to your tag. and ink over it using your ink applicator and blue distress ink.

2. Remove the glimer screen and remove the adhesive it left on your tag if any.

3. Stamp and emboss snowflakes down the left side of your tag and the right bottom over the white snowflake left by your screen in step 1.

4. With your Script Background stamp and chestnut roan ink, stamp over the left side of your tag at an angle. Then stamp To and From in the same ink.

5. Cover the circle of grungeboard with your pewter crackle paint and let dry. Do not heat your metallic crackle paint!! It will turn out crappy if I may say so. Let it air dry. This will take longer than regular crackle paint.

6. When your circle is dry, stamp the snowflake with stazon on top of your crackle paint.

7. Add ribbon and hang your snowflake circle with silver string. If you'd like you can pop dot it to the tag.

8. Trim the bottom of the tag with scallop scissors and punch holes in each scallop.

How fun! :) I had a good time making this tag. I just kept adding more and more until it turned out. :) I hope you'll give it a whirl. :)

See you tomorrow for another tag. :)

Day 8: 12 Days of Christmas Projects

Welcome welcome! It's Day 8 on my 12 day journey to Christmas. There's only 14 more shopping days left til the big day! Are you ready?? I'm no where close. Although all my shopping is done. I need to make more gifts than I think I can handle at this point but I'm glad to have my TAGS done! :)
Today I'm showcasing a fun tag for you. It's purple!!! Who doesnt' love purple??
Ok, these pics do this tag no justice what so ever. I promise the tag is purple!! As purple as Barney! (ewe).. Anywhoo.. Lets do it....
Supplies: Tag, ribbon, Cuttlebug embossing square flourish, Fancy Christmas Stamp from QKD, Picket Fence Crackle Paint, Gold Paint Daubber from Ranger, Grungeboard snowflakes, Black Momento Ink Pad, Foam ink Applicator, Dusty Concord DI Ink, Rock Candy Stickles, Embossing machine.
Steps:
1) Paint your grungeboard snowflakes with crackle paint and let dry
2) Pant the bottom 1/2 diagonally with crackle paint and let dry
3) When your tag is dry, use your foam applicator to apply Dusty Concord ink all over.
4) Stamp your images onto the tag using your black momento ink
5) Emboss the corner medallion onto the bottom of the tag
6) Using your paint daubber swipe over the top of the tag. I only did the top 1/2. I wante the crackle paint to stand out so I left it alone.
7) Using an up and down dabbing motion apply gold paint to the top of your snowflakes and let dry
8) Add ribbon
9) pop dot your snowflakes to the left side of your tag
10) Use your rock candy stickles and dress up your tag. I put them on my ornaments on my tree and swag. You can even add some to your snowflakes if you'd like.
So... wasn't that easy? Try it and come back and tell me. This was a super fun tag. I hope you'll try it yourself. I'll be back tomorrow with something fun. :)
Take care and stay warm.

Day 7: 12 Days of Christmas Projects

Hey there!!! Welcome to the 7th Day of Christmas... Queen Kat Style! :) I hope you're all warm and ready to have some Christmas fun today! I'm sharing my favorite tag yet with you today. It's called the Best Gift of All....

Supplies: Tag, Cranberry Adirondack Ink, Pine Needles DI Ink, Embossing Ink, Gold Embossing Powder, White Cardstock Scrap: Gold Adirondack Paint Daubber, Grungeboard numbers, Stamps from QKD, Ribbon, foam ink applicator, heat tool, pop dots, flat zots or tombow.

Steps:
1) Random Stamp the gifts from the Fancy Christmas stamp set all over your tag alternating ink colors.

2) Swipe the entire tag with the Gold paint daubber. Don't do too much or you'll cover the gifts.

3) Stamp and emboss the "Best Gifts of All" saying onto some white cardstock. Using your ink applicator, rub on some cranberry ink and using a tissue rub off the ink from the embossed portion so you don't get all messy.

4) Cut out the saying and pop dot it to the bottom of the tag.

5) Take your ink applicator and apply ink to the 2 and the 5 grungeboard pieces. If you don't have grungeboard, you can also use chipboard.

6) Swipe the gold paint over your numbers and then adhere them to your tag. I pop dotted the 2 so it would have more 3-D-ness. :) and then used some flat zots on my 5 so it's on the tag.

wow! 6 steps? am I losing it?? NOPE! I promised fun, fast and easy! that's what you got! :)

Have a great day and visit me tomorrow! I'll have something gorgeous to show you. Thanks again for coming. :)

Day 5: 12 Days of Christmas Projects & Blog Hop

Hey there! I'm so sorry my, 12 days of projects derailed. I had a family emergency and I couldn't get to the computer often to blog. :( But I'm baaaaaack! and just in time for Day 5 and the QKD RKM Blog hop day! yay!! 2 fer 1.
Today on the blog hop we were challenged with a sketch. It's one of my first sketches that I did. I've made a few cards with it and they all turn out different! This one is no exception.

Supplies:
SEI Christmas paper, Green Cardstock, Pine Needles Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Poinsetta Nestabilities, Poinsetta flower from Prima, Jumbo Brad, 3 silver 1/2 rounds, silver stickles, pop dots, stamping mat, bamboo skewer, tombow adhesive and Script Background stamp from Queen Kat Designs.

Steps:
1) Cut a background piece of patterned paper to size of your card. My card is 4.25" X 5.5". Adhere to your card front.

2) Cut a strip of patterned paper to: 4.25" X 2.58" and adhere to the left side of your card leaving about 0.25" showing underneath.

3) Cut a strip of green cardstock to 4.25" X 2.25" Stamp your background stamp on the cardstock and run your edges of the cardstock on your green ink pad to add depth. Adhere to card.

4) Using different patterned paper, cut 1 of each of the 3 poinsetta's in the nestibilities collection.

5) Using a bamboo skewer and your stamping mat, press the bamboo skewer into each petal making a crease in each petal to add 3-d effect.

6) Layer all 3 together and add the prima flower on top with a jumbo brad. Adhere to your card with pop dots.

7) After you've got your card all set and everything's together, take your silver stickles and go around the edges of the bottom 2 layers of your poinsettas. This will add some bling and brighten your card.

8) Using zots or your choice of adhesive, add 3 little silver 1/2 rounds to the bottom of the green strip.

That was so easy, right?? It took me 10 minutes to make this card. I told you my 12 days would be fast and easy projects right?? :)

Day 4: 12 Days of Christmas Projects

Ho Ho Ho! I loved making this tag today. I am in love with the new Crackle Paint called Rock Candy by Tim Holtz! and the Rock Candy Stickles.. O.M.G. How fantastic!!!! I have to tell you, I made it today, just in time to sign up for one of his classes at CHA! I am STOKED!!!!! I have never met him but he's like an idol to me. I love watching his videos because I learn soooo much!! Did you know Ranger is coming out with 12 new Distress Ink colors?? I'm gonna die and go to stamping heaven!! I can't wait. I have all of the old ones and I'm excited for the new.

Ok, ok... now for the project of the day... It's so easy to make and so much fun!

Supplies: Tag, Ribbon, QKD Stamp (Light of the Christmas Tree), Snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder, Cuttlebug, Metallic Gold Adirondak Paint Dauber, Cranberry Adirondack Ink pad, clear embossing powder, green stickles, Oregano Adirondack Ink pad, Dotted patterned paper, Embossing gun, White cardstock, craft sheet, paper towels, Foil corner, Leaf, Adhesive Prima flower and a brad.

Steps:
1. Cover your tag with dotted patterned paper using your choice of mono adhesive. I use Tombow.

2. Ink up the patterned paper with your foam ink applicator and Oregano Ink pad.

3. Dab gold paint along the left hand side of the tag. Do not rub it in, paint it on or anything like that. Dab it straight up and down. That will give you bubbles and texture. As the paint dries it will pop the bubbles and leave you with an awesome texture. I only did 1 width of the dauber because I added another treatment to the other half of the tag. Let dry.

4. Emboss the right hand side of your tag with your cuttlebug embossing folder.

5. Take your paint dauber and dab it onto a scrap piece of paper till it's almost dry. you want it to be like a dry brusk application for this step. Rub it lightly over all your snowflakes. This will give a more 3-D effect to your tag.

6. Now... Break out your rock candy crackle paint!!! This is the fun messy part!! slop it on, baby!! Leave nothing to spare here. The more you add the better effect you get. and I find that if you let it air dry about 10 minutes then heat dry the rest of the way it turns out nicely and you're not waiting too long for it to dry.
7. Stamp a Christmas Tree in Cranberry ink and emboss with clear powder. Layer your flowers and add a brad in the center.
8. When your tag is dry to the touch, Adhere your tree to it along with your flower and leaf.

9. Add your photo corner and green stickles for bling!

Geesh! That's not even 10 steps and you have a fabulous tag ready for the top of a special gift. :)

I'll be back tomorrow with another fun easy project. :) Take a look around at the QKD blog. There are lots of the Royal Court members that are doing their own 12 days of projects!!

Take care and I'll see you tomorrow!! :)

Woohoo!!!

So... some of you already know.. but I'm gonna toot here!! QKD is teaching a class at the Winter CHA Supershow for the public!! It's going to be one heck of a fun time!! The class is filling up so get your ticket now. Here's what we will be making..

Day 3: 12 Days of Christmas Projects

Hi there!
Welcome to day 3 of my 12 days of Christmas projects! There's a PRIZE today!! So read on....
I used Victoria for this tag and colored her in Christmas colors. Here's the skivvy...
Supplies: Tag, ribbon, QKD stamps (Victoria & French Floral Background), Gold Trim, Tuxedo Black Momento ink, Tim Holtz Cranberry Ink, New Sprout Momento Ink, Tombow markers, White Souffle Pen, Red Cardstock, White paper, removable adhesive, Tombow adhesive, pop dots and Foam Ink Applicator.
Steps:
1. Stamp Victoria with black ink onto the tag
2. Stamp Victoria on a plain white piece of paper and cut her out (this will be a mask)
3. Using removable adhesive such as a piece of cheap scotch tape or removable tombow, place the mask over the stamped image on your tag.
4. Stamp over the mask using the "New Sprout" ink pad and your French Floral Background stamp. Remove the mask carefully, do not damage the image below.
5. Color Victoria in some vibrant Christmas colors.
6. Using your foam ink applicator, apply some cranberry ink to the top of the tag and down the sides and across the bottom for highlights.
7. Wrap the bottom of the tag in gold cord and secure. Add you ribbon in the top hole.
8. Stamp your sentiment on Red cardstock in Black ink and pop dot it to the top of the tag.
9. Using your white souffle' pen add white highlights and dots where you'd like.
See that was easy wasn't it? I hope you'll join me for another fun project tomorrow. :) In the mean time, Follow my blog. I will choose at least 1 person tommorrow from my followers to receive a special holiday treat from me! Leave some love and let me know you're a follower to be entered.

Day 2: 12 Days of Christmas Projects

Welcome to the 2nd Day of Christmas Projects. Today I've got a special Christmas Tag for you today. I used the new Northern Exposure stamp set that came out today at QKD. That's right! It's new stamp day at the castle. Here's how I did it...
Supplies:
Tag, Stamps from QKD, Grungeboard holly leaves, Momento Black Ink, Pine Needles Distress Ink from Tim Holtz, Mahogany Distress ink, Red sitckles, Inkessentials foam applicator, Ribbon, Shimmerz paints, Pine Needles Crackle Paint, pop dots, craft mat.
Steps:
1. Make the background: using your pine needle DI ink, sponge it on the top of the tag then do the same with the mahogany on the bottom of the tag. I find I get the best results when I used my Inkessentials foam applicator and my craft mat. I use small circles starting off the tag and working to the inside. I try not to start on the tag because it leaves "edge" marks from the foam and sometimes they are not wet enough to be blendable.
2. Stamp the TO: and FROM: stamp with momento ink and then stamp the snowman.
3. Paint your snowman with your shimmerz paint or any paint you have.
4. Paint the grungeboard holly with pine needles crackle paint. When dry add red stickles and apply to the tag using pop dots or thick zots.
5. Apply ribbon and you're done!
How easy is that? 5 steps to a fun Christmas tag. I hope you will try this project. Come by the store to grab a set of the Northern Exposure snow people. They are fantastic for all your winter crafting.
I'll be back tomorrow with day #3 of the 12 days of Christmas. Until then.. Stay warm!!

Day 1: 12 Days of Christmas Projects

Welcome to my 12 days of Christmas projects. I have a bunch of fun things to share. From December 1st through December 12th I'll be posting something fun each day. Today I have a simple ornament that I made. This is one of the easiest things you can make that will add some cheer to your Christmas tree and not cost a fortune to make.
Supplies:
Stamp (From the December Royal Kit @ QKD)Bazzil Basics Chipboard Shape, Green Mini Beads, SEI Christmas Paper, Tombow, Gold Adirondack Paint Dauber, Sand Paper, Gold Cord, White Cardstock, Green Ink Pad, Popsicle Stick and YES! Glue

Steps:
1. Cover the chipboard piece on both sides with patterned paper using your tombow to adhere it to the chipboard.
2. Sand the edges of the paper to make them "distressed" looking and to get rid of the "cut" edges on the chipboard.
3. Using your paint daubber, go around the edges of the covered chipboard to paint the raw edge and add a little sparkle to the front and back of the ornament.
4. Stamp "Cheer" onto a small piece of white cardstock, cut into a rectangle and apply to the front of the ornament with tombow.
5. Using your popsicle stick and YES! glue, apply a layer generously around the "Cheer" sentiment. Apply green mini beads and shake off excess. You can apply them 2-3 times until all of the YES! glue is covered.
6. Tie some gold cord in the hole and hang on your Christmas Tree.
I hope you've enjoyed today's project. Come back tomorrow for my next project.
(paper, mini beads and stamp were from the Dec. Royal Kit at QKD)

Ho Ho Ho!

Welcome to the December pre-release day! I'm happy you could make it. I've got some very special releases for you today! Maigan had an burst of creativity to draw some "snowmaids". I just love them! I can't wait to color some more of them up. The first one I have here today is "Let It Snowmaid" She's so pretty.
Both of the mermaids I have here today were colored with my new tombow markers and blinged up with some $1 find stickles. I used some patterned papers from last year's SEI Christmas collection... I think it is called Glitzmas.. This next mermaid is "Happy Holidays Snowmaid". She's so fun and festive all dressed up in her pink shell bikini ready to hit the beach.

Oh.. Wait... Maybe that's ME that's ready to hit the beach.. Hmmm.. LOL. I am! I really am ready for the beach. Snow is not my favorite thing that's for sure. But these Snowmaids are awesome!! These new stamps will be in the QKD store on Wednesday!!

You're off to Kelly's blog next. Happy hoppin! Stop by here tomorrow as I kick off my 12 days of Christmas projects!

The angels are coming...

Hey everyone, Happy Thanksgiving. :) I hope you are spending the day with someone you love. I get to have the family over tomorrow for the day. I can't wait to spend time with my dad!!! He's helping me rebuild the stamp machines. Both of them crapped out on me this week. :( But I think we are only missing 2 things for them so we are going to start working on them tomorrow.

I wanted to come by and show you what I've been working on. Most of you know I'm a total night owl and sleep rarely.. Well this is just the beginning of the heavenly creatures I will be making this year. I have put my love of making angels on hold for the past 7-8 years and I'm finally getting back into it.

Meet Anne Marie...
There are so many details that I've put into this angel I'm almost leaning to keeping her.. But I have sooo many right now. I think I counted 6 sitting around my living room. :) hehe. I think Anne Marie needs to be in a home with fewer angels so she can bless the family she lives with.
I've listed her for sale here in my Etsy shop.
The dress, coat and wings were all handmade. Even the cone and dress poof under her skirt were hand done. :) I don't like the angels at the big box stores they look cheap and don't have a real meaning since they likely weren't made with the love I add to my girls. So if you need some extra love in your holidays, come by and pick up Anne Marie.
Happy Turkey day!

Royal Monday Blog Hop

Welcome!! I hope you had a great weekend. I've got a super fun card to share with you today. I used the Happy Holly Days Stamp set from QKD.
I have used this set over and over and over again and it still looks different each time I put ink on it and put it to paper. The snowflakes are so awesome. I used some patterned paper I had in my scrap drawer for this entire card. I cut no virgin papers for this baby! I'm going green and using my scraps.. lol. I random stamped the blue background with the 2 snowflakes in the set and then also random stamped the white circle.
The White "flower" on the left hand side of the card is a new product that I'm making for the QKD shop. They will be exclusives and only available in the store. They are organza fabric with a bling center. Soooo gorgeous. I can't wait to make more. I just had to try one out on this card.
I hope you've enjoyed this stop of the hop! Next up we have Kelly's blog don't miss out on her fun creation!
Yesterday, Queen Kat Designs introduced 2 Twilight inspired stamp sets! That's right!! more new stamps for this month and they are TWILIGHT!! Come n get em. Buy both and get a FREE "Team Bella" Stamp.

So... today's challenge is the color challenge. It was to use the QKD official colors: Pink, Purple, Grey and white. (yes that's mostly purple.. the light was way bad for pic taking!) I used the new word sets for this card (Who luvs yah?, Snug as a Bug, and Warm Fuzzies). I just spplied them randomly to an acrylic block, inked and stamped! It made a fun looking "background" type image. I used lots of layers and ribbon.. Added some flowers and poof, instant card. :) It was fun using these colors together! You should try it!

Adornit's Make It Merry Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to my stop on the Adornit's Make it Merry Blog hop. I'm happy to be a part of it. Today I'm sharing a fun Christmas tag with you. I made it using the supplies in the Nov/Dec Findings Vintage kit from Queen Kat Designs. I used a plastic snowflake I had from somewhere (yeah one of those things you have and you don't know where it came from but it's useful at that moment :) ) and I layed it on to my tag, then I used my mini mister with water and denim ink mixed in it and spritzed the tag. After it dried, I random stamped the ornaments on it and used stickles to spruce them up. I stamped "Wishing you a happy christmas" on the tag.

The next thing I did was stamp two ornaments from the Findings stamp set on separate cardstock, color and cut them out. I used a metallic gold roller ball pen to color the centers of the large ornament. Then I added clear crystal lacquer to them to make them pop. For the small ornament, I added a button from the kit to make it more vintage like.

When the large ornament was dry, I used pop dots to affix both of them to the tag. I added the lace and some twine to the hold in the tag. Then tied two mini jingle bells from the kit to the ends of the twine.

I had a lot of fun with this kits. Come by and pick one up for yourself.

Have an awesome day. Please visit RhondaSue next.

More Christmas Planner...

Hey there!! I'm baaaack! I have more of my Christmas Planner to share with you. Today I'll be sharing my Shopping list and Schedule pages.
For the Shopping list, I created the base page just like I did the front page with my paper bag and patterned paper. I added ribbon and rick rack over the seam. For the left side, I embossed with gold two ornaments like they are hanging on a Christmas tree.
The swirls on the left were so fun to make, I bought this glue at the craft store back in September thinking I could write with it and then glitter it.. Well I finally used it! It's the most awesome stuff. I'll have to blog it later. Please forgive me I don't have the name of it right now. Anyhoo.. I drew the swirlies in glue then glittered them up they sparkle just like the lights on a tree. I used the QKD alphabets for the "Shopping list on my tab.

Next I have the 3rd and final section of my planner, it's the Schedule...
I used the sheet music from the Findings kit on this page. It's so pretty I can't get enough of it so I also covered the back cover in it. :) This page was super easy. I random stamped "sparkle in the light of the tree" all over the paper bag end of the book and drew some scrolls on it with a metallic gold pen.

I embossed the small ornament from the set in gold along the bottom of the page just for some extra texture. Then I layered the flowers above and inked em up with me trusty Chestnut Roan ink pad, added a button and viola!

I'm so happy with how this project turned out. I can't wait to give it away next week! :) You'll have a chance to win it right here next Thursday!

Have a nice day and stay warm!

Christmas Planner

Today I have a super fun project to share with you. It's a vintage Christmas Planner. It has 3 sections: Wish List, Shopping List, Schedule... To me these are the most important things we need to have lists for while we are getting ready for the holidays. You can use it to plan your meals, family gatherings and all kinds of things.

I used paper lunch sacks as my base along with the 3 "File tabs" that came in the Fall Into Christmas Vintage kit at QKD. They were the purrfect size to fit into the paper bags. What I did was I cut off the closed ends of the bags so I had the open frayed ends. I put about 3-4 inches of the bag onto the file tab and stapled them with decorative X's down the side. Then I applied my patterned paper over the left side.
I stamped it up with the Christmas Ornaments that come in the stamp set of the kit and I added some by using my alphabets from QKD. Those stamps come in handy with loads of things!! For the coloring on th ornaments, Iused my prisma pencils and gamsol. To get the text behind the ornaments on the left side of my book, I stamped them onto the novel pages that came in the kit.

For the large ornament seen above, I colored it then covered the whole thing with crystal lacquer.. Yeah that took a pretty minute to dry. :) ooo... I just remembered, I didn't color that one with pencils. I filled it in with stickles.. let them dry over night and then covered it with crystal lacquer. It is so shiny and sparkley it's gorgeous.

The little wooden star was inked with Chestnut roan chalk ink and I added gold stickles and also covered it with lacquer.

I'll show you the inside pages then leave you for today.. :) I'll be back Thursday with more of this book. Tomorrow I'll be here with Royal Kat Wednesday. I have a special guest's card to blog about. :)

So for the inside pages, I used the closed ends of the bags as my base alternating open end out and open end in so you can instert more lists, reciepts, tags or other things in the open ends for safe keeping. I cut a piece of notebook paper and affixed it to each page front and back. Then I stamped them with an ornament with Olive chalk ink. --ok so blogger isn't letting me add more pictures.. grrr. I'll try to insert it later. :)

Have a great day!! oh.. PS.. you'll have a chance to win this on November 19th!

Believe...

All you have to do is "Believe and you will find Christmas"... I love these little "Brownie" guys. They are so dang cute. I have another card to share with you today that I made with the set.
I found a Cuttlebug folder I'd never seen before in a store so I snatched it up just for this card. :) It's got all kinds of ornaments on it. I used a thick (I mean THICK) piece of cardstock for this. It's red on one side and green on the other. I have NO clue where I got it from. It's the thickest CS I've ever seen and some how I ended up with like 10 sheets of it. lol. It's almost like it's 2 pieces glued together. hmm... anyhow...

I embossed it with my new cuttlebug folder and standed through the gree to hit the red. I could have sanded another 1/2 hour and still not reached total red. lol. so it's a "hint of red". I embossed my brownie guy with black pigment ink and clear powder then colored him with my new babies (tombow markers) I just love how the highlights came out in his hair.
Have you started your Christmas crafting?? You'll NEED this stamp set for your projects. trust you me. This is the cutest set ever. It will be available in the store tomorrow. So stop by and shop.
Have an awesome day!

Royal Kat Monday...

Welcome to the second edition of Royal Kat Monday with Queen Kat Designs. Today is the preview day for the new November releases on Wednesday! If you've hopped here from Alex's Blog you're on the right track. If you've missed the beginning of the hop, please feel free to visit the QKD blog and start from the beginning.Today I'm previewing my favorite new release with you! This is a little guy from a stamp set called Brownies. The set contains 3 different little brownies and 3 sute sayings. The set can be used year round!! but, I'm getting a jump on my Christmas cards so I colored him all up ready to hep put out the "cheese" for santa!
I just got a set of the Tombow water based markers.. And I LOVE THEM!!! I'd take them over Copic any day. There's only 96 of them so that means my marker budget is low and I dont have to store a ton of markers I'll probably never use. I think I got like 34 of them and so far I've used all of them lol. And I've only had them for about 32 hours. :)
*tip if you have the Tombow markers and you're having paper issues, try watercolor paper (the back side) it works like a charm and it's cheap too.
I wanted to show you how I did the edge of the card so I've photographed it up close.. It's the "Icicle" punch from EK success. I punched it out of double sided cardstock from Cosmo Cricket and then lightly wet the edge and used a bamboo skewer to "curl" the edge and inked it with Chestnut Roan Chalk ink. It's such a fun addition to this card. I hope you'll grab this stamp set for yourself It's so cute!!! The new release stamps will be available in the store on Wednesday!
Please remember, we have 2 blog hops a week now. This one on Monday's and then the regular Royal Court Wednesday hop. They both start at the QKD Blog.
For more preview fun, please hop over to Kelly's blog. Have an awesome day. I'll be back tomorrow with another preview if you'd like to stop by.
