For today I'm going to share a card that I made with "By the Sea Shore" mermaid. She's so pretty and I have so much fun coloring her when I get a chance. :) I used some patterned paper that I found in a stack from Making Memories It's so fitting for this card! I colored my mermaid using gamsol and colored pencils. I hope you'll stop by and pick up your own mermaid today. They are 20% off over at Queen Kat Designs and we're having a 55% off sale too!

Happy Wednesday

It's Royal Kat Wednesday at the castle again and we are making boxes this week! If you've come from Tina's blog you're on the right track. If you've come out of the blue, please sail back to the QKD blog for the beginning of the hop.

This is a "piece of cake" I used a cricut machine to cut the box out of aqua colored cardstock and used my scor-it to make the scores for the folds. Then I folded the box up and used tombow to secure the edges. I lined the outside with patterned paper from Fancy Pants. Adding a stamped and glittered cupcake and ribbon.

Next I added some Prima flowers and a brad to "ice" the edge of my cake.

That's it. It was a really simple box to make. I've seen people make entire cakes.. like 2-3 layer cakes with them!! It's a fun addition to a birthday party, wedding party, anniversary or even an open house. Fill them with candy, nuts or anything small and give them as favors at your next function!

New things in Paradise..

Greetings from under the cabana. It was 99 degrees here today. YIKES! Too hot for my blood. So I stayed inside and opened up a new store! :)

Paradise Sunrise Essentials now has two retail outlets. You can find our fabulous soaps, lotion bars and lip balms on Artfire as well as Etsy. There's lots and lots of new stuff that I've added in the past month or so. Come by the shop and check it out. I don't have everything up on the Artfire store yet but have already had my first sale! I'm very excited about this and if all goes well, Etsy will be history.

It's RKW!!

Today's theme is color. Maria has presented us with: Lime, Yellow, Orange and Red. We were told to make a card using those colors. So.. here's what I came up with. It's a fun card. It's a spin on a card by my friend Ana Wolfhart. I saw it in a Cards Magazine issue. I believe it was July 2008 that it's in. Thanks for the inspiration Ana! You're the best.


I think I did a good job with those colors!! Almost NO cool colors to be found. YIKES!! I need my purples and blues. :) I used the new Paradise Found stamp set for this. It's a purrrrfect fit for this color scheme.

Sketchy RKW!

Hi hi! It's a sketch party today!! Thanks for visiting my blog! Maria challenged the Royal court to a sketch off this week. We used one of my sketches....And we all went to work on it! I had fun with the new stamp that came out this month called Honolulu skyline. It's sooooooo fun to work with!!! I wish I had a varigated ink pad I want to try to do it with all kinds of crazy colors! I used some paper from the Making Memories Travel stack I found and some random embellies! :) Try the sketch for yourself!

It's Release Day!!

Happy Release day everyone! Queen Kat Designs has some fun in store for you today!! Have you seen the whole blog hop so far? If not, join us on the QKD blog to start the hop over.

Today I'm playing with the Honolulu Skyline stamp. It's a purrrfect stamp for this time of year. At Queen Kat Designs this summer, we've gone tropical. We have brought you everything such as palm trees, beach essentials and mermaids. But we haven't officially brought paradise to you until NOW! I used some paper from Making Memories for this fun card. I am loving the Travel stack that I picked up in my crafting shopping trips that seem to happen 5 days a week. lol. The paper accents the new stamps purrfectly!
