Welcome to the first edition of the Royal Monday blog hop. I'm happy to share my Monday with you. today's challenge was to use this photo as inspiration for a card:
So... For my card, I used a Tim Holtz mask with some Distress inks in: Broken China, Tattered Rose and Scattered Straw (I think that's the one I used. lol) then I removed the mask and stamped over it with the Script background, butterfly writings background and the harliquin background stamps from QKD. I added some velvet ribbon, flowers and matted it with brown cardstock and came up with this:
I am having so much fun still with my Distress inks. I hope you'll try them too! Have you seen the Get Inked! kits from QKD? They are fantastic and an excellent way to grow your QKD stamp collection as well as ink collection. The next two months will be awesome as always with Irene, but the new year... Oh man, I can't wait! Roni Johnson, will be taking over the reins. I can't tell you how fabulous the stamps are for the year. Did you know, Roni just wrote a book? That's right!! It's called "Teach Yourself Visually - Collage & Altered Art" It's a highly recommended book for a great read if you like techniques.
Now on to Kelly's blog for some more blogging fun! Don't forget we have the Regular Royal Kat Wednesday blog hop on Wednesday.
