It's that time!

Why hello there blog friends! Today I have a pretty large project to share with you for my part of the blog hop. This is an easy way to create a fun mantle piece or book shelf decoration for Christmas. Or any holiday or theme for that matter. This is my big project for the year, we really aren't celebrating Christmas this year at my house but I wanted to make something new for this year.
So.. I went to the $1 store and scored these awesome silver frames!! I brought them home took the glass out and threw it away.. I lined the inside of the frame with red crushed velvet. To do this I just cut a piece of chipboard that fit the frame and wrapped the fabric over all 4 edges and taped it down with scotch tape then put the back of the frame on!
Next, I free hand drew the letters on some cheap chipboard I have laying around and cute them out. I chose some SEI Christmas paper I believe it's from the Alpine Frost collection from last year. *yes I use paper that's from past seasons, don't hate. :) *
Then... I got out all the Christmas stamps from this year from QKD and went to town. I stamped some of the letters, I stamped the deer above.. It's a grungeboard deer that comes in a holiday pack from Timmy. I also stamped the grungeboard "25" below. both the deer and the 25 have been glazed over with clear crystal lacquer.
for the top of the "T" above, I used some fake snow that I found on clearance at a craft store. It's just white styrofoam circles in a white glue/paint paste. I believe it's made by Delta. The white flowers are from Michael's clearance they are paper. :) I have more and I plan to ink those up! I also get my poinsettas from the $1 store! I layer them with primas and other flowers too. This one has a rhinestone brad in the middle.
To finish the frames off, I used some prima stars, flowers, glitter, clear lacquer rhinestones and other fun things. This is a project where you just let your mind go wild. It's really fun to start with something blank like a frame and go from there.

Now I have a winner to announce!! The winner from my blog candy from the Queen Kat Designs 4th birthday is.... Alex. She guessed Kondona as the stamp I used and she's correct!! Congrats Alex, I will pop the prize in the mail as soon as I can dig out of the snow.

Please visit my friend, Roni's blog next for some more inspiration.

Happy stamping!

Vicki, your project is just breathtaking :O) who wouldn't want something as fabulous as this on their mantle this holiday season! I know I would! I love all the rich festive colours you used and what a great deal you got on those fabulous frames! Have you got lots of snow already? I love the snow but we don't get much in the warmer south west of the UK :O(
